I had a hard time with meditation when I first started out. It honestly took me about a year and half to finally somewhat understand what I was doing and to see a difference. Once I had my first seizure, I decided it was time to buckle down and get serious about this. The best advice I was given was to meditate for 10 minutes everyday for a week straight at the same time everyday. By doing this, it's now in your daily routine and you start to notice the benefits.

This app is by far, in my opinion, the best meditation app on the market. I've tried a few, including Headspace and X, but for some reason this one stuck with me. This is why.

Home page

I love this home page. When opening the app, you're welcomed with the calming mountain background, with the water slowly animated, and the sound of nature playing in the background. Your sections are laid  out in a clean, understanding way.

Another thing I enjoy about the homepage is the 'Daily Calm' feature. Everyday, there is a different 10 minute mediation session with a different theme. For example, on Valentine's day there is a love themed session, etc.

You can also modify what scene and sound you prefer. You can turn the sound off if you're not into it, and you can turn on an option to continue playing the sound when your device is on lock mode.

The amount of different meditation collections you can choose from are endless. The different sections include:

  • All
  • My <3 (you can heart your favourite sessions to one section)
  • Beginners
  • Anxiety
  • Sleep
  • Focus
  • Stress
  • Relationship
  • Emotions
  • Self-Care
  • Personal Growth
  • Inner Peace
  • Resilence
  • Insight
  • Less Guidance
  • Kids
  • Masterclass
  • Available offline (you can download your favourite sessions to play them on without wifi)

Some examples of inside the sections include 21 days of calm, 7 days of managing stress, body scan, walking meditation, emergency calm and many more.

Another cool feature I really enjoy is the BREATHE option. This feature is one of the main reasons this app stuck with me and stood out compared to the others. It guides you to breathe in, then out, then in again. You can go as long as you want, and edit how fast or slow you want your breathing to go.
